project

Inspired by the ancient Sumerian text The Descent Of Inanna To the Underworld, Let ME Go is an ongoing collaboration between Antonella Diana and Helen Varley Jamieson that allows for the presentation of work in different media and different environments. Through this collaboration, we aim to not only extend ourselves personally and artistically but also to build tangible connections between different sections of the world, geographically and culturally.

The work takes the form of a multimedia installation with live performance elements. The path of the mythological journey provides a structure for the different media through which the ideas are elaborated and transformed.

Initiated by Antonella Diana in October 2003, the project has manifested as an installation (2006), a performance installation in Ringkobing, Denmark (June 2009) and the physical and virtual installation "Let ME Go" which was presented online and in public libraries in Denmark during October 2009 (see the schedule here).
