the project Kapije: Inanna's Journey

Inspired by the ancient Sumerian text The Descent Of Inanna To the Underworld, Kapije: Inanna's Journey is an ongoing collaboration that allows for the maturity of artistic ideas and the production and presentation of work in different media and different environments. Through working together we aim to not only extend ourselves personally and artistically but also to build tangible connections between different sections of the world, geographically and culturally.

The final work will take the form of a multimedia installation with live performance elements. The path of the mythological journey provides a structure for the different media through which the final artwork will be elaborated and transformed.

There will also be documentation of the process and product in the form of this web site, video documentation and a printed booklet. A final documentary montage will be prepared for screening on television and at film and video festivals.
